You may also crush the leaves and rub the oil from the plant directly on your skin for added discouragement to insects. These plants can be outdoors in summer in most of the US. If in danger of frost, bring plants indoors. Plant will grow best in full sun or partial shade, in a moderately fertile, well draining soil.
